How to distinguish a legal device from an illegal one

Full verification is done through customs and fiscal documents, but there are obvious markers that help you quickly understand whether a device has been imported legally.

Signs of legality:
• There are Ukrainian inscriptions or duplication in Ukrainian on the packaging and the device.
• Indicated importer and contact numbers.
• Inside there is an instruction in Ukrainian.
• There are full details of the manufacturer and serial number or batch.
• The seller easily provides documents and information about the origin of the goods.

If all these points are present, you most likely have an officially imported device with full taxes paid.

Signs of risk:
• There are no Ukrainian inscriptions or they are made with violations.
• No importer information or contact details.
• There is no instruction in Ukrainian.
• No manufacturer details or serial number.
• The seller avoids questions about documents, calling it a "commercial secret".
• The price is much lower than the market average for no objective reason.

Consequences for retailers selling illegal devices:

Trade in products imported without paying taxes is smuggling.
Such goods are considered to be in violation of customs legislation.

The seller can expect:
• administrative responsibility — for violation of consumer packaging and labeling requirements;
• criminal liability — in the case of large volumes of sales, in particular under Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion).

Legal products are not a formality, but protection of business and consumers from fines, risks and reputational losses.
